Women's Basketball, McMichel, Named NAIA Player of the Week

LaTrice McMichel of Missouri Baptist University has been named the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball National Player of the Week on February 8th. The 6-foot-1 inch senior guard from Indianapolis, IN, averaged 36 points as the Spartans went 2-0 on the week. She scored 46 points in the 87-84 home win against Harris- Stowe State University (Mo.). During that game she broke her own single-game scoring mark of 40. She then scored 27 points and had six rebounds in a 78-67 road win against William Woods University (Mo.). McMichel shot 54% from the field (25-for-46) and 76% from the free throw line (16-for-21) in both games. Missouri Baptist is 18-6 overall and 7-2 in AMC play. This is the second time in four weeks that McMichel has received this honor.
