Athletics Honors 10-Year Old Cancer Patient at Basketball Game
Missouri Baptist University Athletics honored ten year old Noah Donohoo at the Spartans home basketball game Tuesday February, 16th when MBU hosted the University of Illinois Springfield. MBU Director of Athletics, Thomas Smith, dedicated the evening’s competition as “Noah’s Night”. Young Noah was introduced as an honorary starter in the Spartans starting line up where he received an autographed MBU jersey. Noah then spent the remainder of the game on the bench with the Spartans as MBU competed in a key American Midwest Conference match up.
Noah was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor on November 18th, 2005. Noah just finished radiation, but continues to attend his Stanton (MO) Elementary school. Noah’s father, David (’03, Religion) shaved his head as his son underwent the most trying time of his young life. Noah continues to live life like a ten year old should, bouncing around the room with a smile on his face living life to its fullest. The Donohoo’s prayer is that God would provide Noah many more days to enjoy life and make a difference in other people’s lives for Christ. “May Noah’s brokenness draw not only him closer to God, but the many people who surround him everyday” said David Donohoo. The Donohoo family resides in Eureka, MO.
MBU lost the contest to UIS by a final score of 70-65.
