Wrestling Competes Twice Over Weekend

The Missouri Baptist University wrestling team fell to Lindenwood University in a dual on Friday 43-6. Lindenwood, the defending national champions, showed why they are a favorite to defend their title. Coach Jackson stated, “We were out wrestled in every match and the team did not stick to our game plan.”

On Saturday the Missouri Baptist University wrestling team traveled to York, Nebraska for the York Open Wrestling Tournament. Of the ten wrestlers that went six placed. Mike Aitch, first, at 125lbs, Eric Luebbe, third, at 133lbs, Cody Rouse, second, at 157lbs, John Wilcox, third, at 174lbs, Nigel Kinworthy, second, at 184lbs and Jodi Philpott, third, at heavyweight.

The Spartan Wrestlers travel to battle NCAA Division II ranked Truman State on Wednsday and end up on Saturday at Missouri Valley College for the always tough Missouri Valley Open Tournament.
