Track & Field Show Strong Over Weekend
The MBU Tracksters had another strong week this past weekend. Competing at both Findlay University and the University of Illinois-Champaign and the Spartans continued their stellar season.
The multi-eventers had a strong showing at Findlay with Jackie Fleddermann and Dana Miller leading the way. Both scored over 3000 points, while Fleddermann improved on her performance that had her second in the nation. The rest of the team competed Saturday at Illinois and came away with several national qualifying performances. Despite being hit by the flu bug, MBU defeated several NCAA Division I challengers. Strong performances were turned in by Nadina Marsh in the hurdles and high jump, Lanece Clarke in the 200, Nickesha Anderson in the 60,200, and 400, Shernelle Nicholls in the shot put, and Betty Rotich in the mile and 3000. Denis-Bull Olinga led the way for the men with a solid mile and 3000 double. Camoi Hood and Onesmus Too also had strong days as the mens team continues to impress in their inagural season.
The Spartans look to have a week off before continuing their journey to nationals in early March.
