Athletics Inducts Three Members Into the Hall of Fame

Missouri Baptist University Athletics hosted the third annual Hall of Fame Banquet on November 11th in MBU's Mabee Great Hall.

The ceremony opened with recognition of four MBU fall sport coaches being selected as AMC Coach of the Year, followed by dinner and a time of fellowship with former and current MBU athletes and coaches. MBU Director of Athletics, Tom Smith, inducted three new members into the Missouri Baptist University Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2005 Hall of Fame class were; John Creer, former MBU Track & Field Coach from 1988-1991. Creer led the Spartans to the 1991 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Championship in 1991. Art Siebels, former MBU Men's Basketball Coach. Siebels coached at MBU from 1961-1963 and then returned to MBU in 1970. Richard White, former MBU Men's Basketball Coach and Athletic Director served MBU from 1960-1970.

Smith then presented the 2005 Athletic Director's Award to Women's Basketball Assistant Coach, Iris Dixon, and Athletic Trainer, Ben McNair.

The evening concluded when 2004 Hall of Fame Inductee, Lowell Pitzer, presented Smith with the American Midwest Conference and Region V Athletic Director of the Year plaque.
