Men's Soccer Wins Big and Sets Record in the Process
The Spartans defeated Williams Baptist College 13-0 on Saturday. MBU broke several records in the process. The team tied a school record for most goals in a game, broke the record for most points in a game at 38 (13 goals, 26 points, 12 assist, 12 points), and broke the school record for the longest winning streak, which currently stands at eight games.
Freshman Midfielder Duran Myton broke the school record for most points in a game with nine (three goals, three assists). Junior Defender Joe Connon and freshman Midfielder Alex O’ Brien scored their first ever collegiate goal in the game. Freshman Forwrad Brock Chatman had three goals and two assists in the game. Junior Midfielder Lawrence Olum had a goal and three assists, sophomore forward David Kelly had a goal and an assists, junior forward Guinter Koste, Rackley Thomas each had a goal and an assist and senior Midfielder Josh Lydon added a goal.
MBU improves to 9-2 overall and 4-0 in conference. They can clinch the AMC Championship on Thursday if Columbia wins at Hannibal on Wenesday and MBU wins at McKendree Thursday at 1:00 PM.
