MBU Athletics Will Host 2005 Hall of Fame Banquet on November 11th (October 26, 2005)

Missouri Baptist University is excited to be hosting its annual Hall of Fame Banquet. This exciting event will take place on Friday November 11th, 2005 in the Mabee Great Hall at 6:00 PM on the campus of Missouri Baptist University. At that time, over 30 NAIA All-Americans will be recognized as well as the induction of three honorees into the Missouri Baptist University Athletic Hall of Fame. This years Hall of Fame honorees are; John Creer, Art Siebels, and Richard White. The recipients will be introduced by the Hall of Fame class of 2004. This will be a special moment…

Spartan Teams Claim AMC Titles (October 23, 2005)

Missouri Baptist University Athletics had a busy weekend and three teams came home with the 2005 American Midwest trophy in their respective sport. The Men's Soccer team defeated William Woods University 3-2 to complete an undefeated conference season en route to their first out right AMC title in the school's history. The Spartans (12-2-1, 6-0-1) claimed the title on October 19th when they tied Columbia College 0-0. The victory against WWU takes the Spartans unbeaten streak to 12 straight games. Soccer Match Game Times Rescheduled (October 21, 2005)

The Men's and Women's varsity soccer matches for Saturday, October 22nd have been rescheduled. The women will play at 5:30 and the men will play at 7:30. Both teams will honor the MBU seniors prior to the start of the game. Games will be played on Soccer Park's turf feild.…

Men's Soccer Claims AMC Title for the First Time (October 20, 2005)

The Spartans claimed the American Midwest Conference title Wednesday night with a 0-0 tie against Columbia College. MBU went into the game with a perfect 5-0 conference record. All they had to do was win or tie with the Cougars and the title would be theirs. MBU tied for the AMC title four years ago and this is the first time the Spartans have claimed the AMC title outright. The Spartans are now 11-2-1 on the season and 5-0-1 in AMC play. Men's Soccer Will Compete for AMC Title (October 18, 2005)

The Missouri Baptist University Spartan Soccer Team will play for the Universities first outright American Midwest Conference title. A win Wednesday night against Columbia College will clitch the AMC title for the Spartans and move them one step closer to a perfect confenence run (11-2, 5-0), the first time in the school’s history. The battle will see MBU, ranked number one in Region V play against the Columbia Cougars, the second ranked team in Revion V. MBU Cross Country Heads West in National Preview (October 17, 2005)

The Missouri Baptist Men's and Women's Cross Country teams traveled to Kansas this weekend for the NAIA Mid States Classic. Mid States features many of the top teams from throughout the midwest. With close to 30 squads competing, the meet was loaded with All Americans and teams looking to earn a podium finish at Nationals little more than a month away. The MBU men were led once again by sophomore Denis-Bull Olinga. Olinga finished fourth in a field of 204 runners with a very strong time of 24:37 for 8000 meters. MBU Volleyball Lends a Helping Hand to Life on Mission (October 14, 2005)

Twenty athletes from the Missouri Baptist University Men’s and Women’s volleyball teams spent the morning of Thursday October, 6th renovating the Walsh House in St. Peters, Missouri. The student-athletes helped with several jobs including: installation of drywall, trash removal, painting, demolition, and many other odds and ends jobs. The service project was in coordination with the Life on Mission and Project Joy programs in coordination with First Baptist Church Harvester (MO). “Our kids felt much rewarded at the end of the day” said MBU Head Volleyball Coach, John Yehling. Women's Lacrosse Will Compete in the CPWLL (October 11, 2005)

During the annual league meeting of the Central Plains Women’s Lacrosse League (CPWLL) held on Sunday, September 25th Missouri Baptist University was voted into the league as a member of the Eastern Division. The schools in the league are: University of Kansas, Lindenwood University, Saint Louis University, University of Missouri, Truman State University, University of Nebraska, Washington University, Oklahoma State University, and Creighton University. Men's Soccer Wins Big and Sets Record in the Process (October 10, 2005)

The Spartans defeated Williams Baptist College 13-0 on Saturday. MBU broke several records in the process. The team tied a school record for most goals in a game, broke the record for most points in a game at 38 (13 goals, 26 points, 12 assist, 12 points), and broke the school record for the longest winning streak, which currently stands at eight games. Freshman Midfielder Duran Myton broke the school record for most points in a game with nine (three goals, three assists). Cross Country Finishes Strong at SIUE (October 10, 2005)

The Men's and Women's Cross Country Team competed in the SIUE Border Wars meet in Edwardsville, Illinois this weekend. The men led all NAIA institutions in the team standings. With close to 30 teams from all levels of college, the MBU men were led by sophomore Denis-Bull Olinga. Olinga finished second in the 286 person race. Denis was followed by Vincent Morogah, Titus Tirop, Justin Moss, and Pat Anderson. The MBU women also turned in a fine performance by finishing second among all NAIA schools. Men's Soccer Extends Win Streak to Seven (October 6, 2005)

Missouri Baptist University took advantage of a solid first half to hang on for a 3-2 victory Tuesday night against University of Illinois Springfield. MBU scored early in the fifth minute when freshman midfielder Duran Myton received a pass from junior midfielder Lawrence Olum and shot it past the UIS keeper for a 1-0 lead. Late in the first half MBU took advantage of a counter attack to take a 2-0 lead into half time. Bowling Team Competes at the 35th annual Hammer Midwest Classic (October 3, 2005)

The MBU bowling teams attended the 35th annual Hammer Midwest Classic over the weekend of October 1st and 2nd. As the first Tier 1 tournament most of the major competitors throughout the country were in attendance. MBU's showing was outstanding. On the men's side of the competition, the Spartans finished 7th overall with highest 2nd round qualifying block in the tournament. All of the top ranked national competitors were in attendance so this is tremendous showing for the MBU team. On the women's side the news was extremely positive. Cross Country Place at Cowboy Jamboree (October 3, 2005)

The Missouri Baptist University Men's Cross Country team traveled to Stillwater, Oklahoma to compete in the prestigious Cowboy Jamboree this weekend. Competing against close to 30 top NCAA Division I and Division II teams, the Spartans fared well with Denis-Bull Olinga leading the charge. Olinga finished 19th out of 238 runners in 25:53 despite the muddy conditions. Olinga was followed by Vincent Morogah, Justin Moss, Enock Ngetich, and Chad Hammontree.
