Cross Country Opens 2005 Season Strong

The Missouri Baptist University Cross Country teams started off their 2005 season at the Washington University Early Bird Invitational. Both teams look to build on a strong 2004 campaign that saw the men take home the AMC conference title. Saturday, the men were led by sophomore Vincent Morogah. Morogah won the men's 5000 meter race in 15:56. The Spartan men finished 5th overall with Justin Moss, Pat Anderson, Terry Wood, and Chad Hammontree following Morogah's lead.

The MBU women's squad took home a 4th place finish with freshman Holly Shaffer leading the way. Shaffer was followed by Sarah Vinslauski, Denele DeVertuil, Dani Skaggs, and Nicola Smith.

The Spartans Cross Country squad will be back in action Saturday September 17th at the Southern Stampede in Joplin, Missouri.
