Women' Soccer Wins First of the Season

The Lady Spartans opened up their season with a 2-1 victory over Mt. Vernon Nazerene University (OH).

MBU struck first as Kelly Prince got her first goal of the season in the first ten minutes of action. MBU's Lauren Tennison followed with her first goal ten minutes later. MVNU, the preseason # 22 team in the nation, got on the board in the closing minutes with a late run and MBU withstood a final surge in the final seconds to hold off for the win.

MBU is 1-0 on the young season. They are in action again when they travel to Memphis over Labor Day weekend.
