Women' Volleyball Defeats Lindenwood in Season Opener (August 30, 2005)

The Lady Spartans defeated Lindenwood University in five games Tuesday night in their season opener. Scores were: 30-26, 20-30, 25-30, 30-24, 15-12. Leading the way for MBU was Ana Mercado who had 28 kills and four aces. Shannon Swiney had 53 assits. Kim Ramsay had 11 kills and five solo blocks and MBU's Tracey Abell had 26 digs. MBU will be in action again this weekend when they travel to the Columbia College Tournament.…

Women' Soccer Wins First of the Season (August 27, 2005)

The Lady Spartans opened up their season with a 2-1 victory over Mt. Vernon Nazerene University (OH). MBU struck first as Kelly Prince got her first goal of the season in the first ten minutes of action. MBU's Lauren Tennison followed with her first goal ten minutes later. MVNU, the preseason # 22 team in the nation, got on the board in the closing minutes with a late run and MBU withstood a final surge in the final seconds to hold off for the win. MBU is 1-0 on the young season. They are in action again when they travel…

Women's Volleyball Opens Up Season Play August 30th (August 26, 2005)

The Missouri Baptist University Women’s Volleyball team is anxious about the upcoming 2005 season and has high expectations. First year head women’s volleyball coach, John Yehling is no stranger to the volleyball world. Coach Yehling has been MBU’s head men’s volleyball coach for the past three years. In that time he has been ranked as high a first in the nation and has claimed one regular season title and two conference post season titles. For his efforts, Coach Yehling boasts of one conference coach of the year honor. Coach Yehling will remain at the helm of the men’s program, but…

Men's Soccer To Host MBU Alumni Game (August 11, 2005)

The Missouri Baptist University Varsity Men’s Soccer team will host the 2005 alumni game. The contest will feature five former and current MBU coaches; Deno Merrick, men’s soccer assistant coach (2002) and Dave Barnett, men’s soccer graduate assistant coach (2001-2004). Chip Dutchik (1998-2002), the head women’s soccer coach and Roger Cole, women’s soccer graduate assistant coach will also be playing. Former MBU Assistant Coach (1999-2000) Colby Thomas, will suit up for the MBU alumni.
