Head Volleyball Coach

John YehlingCoach Yehling was hired in 2002 as the Missouri Baptist University Head Men’s Volley Coach. Coach Yehling was honored as MAMVIC Men’s Volleyball Coach of the Year in 2004, while earning the teams first ever MAMVIC Regular Season title. Yehling has led his men’s team to two Conference Tournament Championships. He has coached four men’s players to All-American status and he took his team to the Men’s NAIA Final Four in 2005.

Coach Yehling was hired in 2005 as the Women’s Head Volleyball Coach. In his first season of coaching the Lady Spartans, Yehling won the American Midwest Conference Post Season Tournament and the Region V Tournament.  Yehling led the Lady Spartans to the 2005 NAIA Final Four.

Coach Yehling is originally from St. Louis, and attended Vianney High School and later MBU where played and graduated. Yehling was an Assistant Coach at MBU prior to being named Head Coach. He was married to his wife, Jessie, in October of 2004.  The family resides in Fenton, Missouri. Yehling also coaches club volleyball for St. Louis High Performance and is a Camp Director for No Limits Volleyball in the summer. He has coached girls USA volleyball for four years.
