A Great Weekend

This past Homecoming weekend was one of the best in MBU history. We had about 150 people participate in the inaugural Learning for Life 5K Run/Walk. I heard numerous compliments from participants about how well organized our event was and how they planned to return next year to run in it again. Congratulations to Katie Bolt and Steve Bender as our overall winners.

It was an honor to watch as three of our fellow alumni were inducted into the Spartan Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday night. Congratulations to Dan Bryant, Julio Campos, and Andy Carter. All three men honored God and their families as they accepted this great honor. Congrats also to MBU alums John Yehling and Kenny Graser who were named MBU Athletic Director's Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year Award winners.

I was great to see so many of the cast of the 1988 production of Oklahoma! at the alumni reunion on Saturday night. Cast members present included Grant Jessen, Sheila Danhoff (Morrow), Bobbi Jo Crawford (Graham), Scott Keller, Dave Hendrick, Tracy Kiso (Garrison), Gary Taylor, Maggie Flavin, Nikki Vines, Tom Puhse, and Brenda Reinsfelder (Eisenbeis). A special thank you to Joy Powell and the 2007 Cast for making us all feel so welcome and appreciated.

If you missed these and other Homecoming activities, you missed a great time. Please make every effort to come out next year and enjoy all of the events planned. You still have this weekend to catch Oklahoma! with performances on Friday & Saturday at 7:30PM and a Sunday matinee performance at 2PM.
