They Did It Again

Congratulations to the Spartan Women's Track and FIeld Team on their impressive victory in winning the 26th Annual NAIA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Kudos to Nickesah Anderson, who was chosen as the Herbert B. Marett Outstanding Performer of the Meet, and to MBU Head Coach VInce Bingham, '88, who was named the NAIA Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Coach of the Year. To see related story go here.

I also wanted to share a very exciting development at MBU. Last Thursday, we held the groundbreaking ceremony for the new student coffeehouse due to open this fall. It will be located on the quad and will feature seating for around 100 people, along with a working fireplace, flat screen TV's, an outdoor patio, and wireless Internet access. Finally, congratulations to Linda Leonard, '79, who was chosen as the Ritenour School District 2006 Diamond Circle Teacher of the Year. Diamond Circle Awards are given to teachers and staff that best exemplify the ditrict's commitment to quality education and service. Linda has worked in the district for 26 years. Way to go, Linda!

Introducing the MBU Alumni Blog

Well here goes, my official entry into the world of blogging. I must admit, the process of trying to put all of my random thoughts into a coherent format is a bit intimidating. I hope to be able to continue sharing thoughts, ideas, and events that our alumni can relate to. My goal is to better connect our alumni with each other and thus with the MBU community. So please feel free to respond to anything you see posted on this site, and come back and visit it often. If you know of something exciting happening in the life of one of our alumni, let us know about it. I plan to update this blog on a regular weekly basis. I really would love to hear from you, so drop me a line, give me a call, or stop by for a visit. Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and I'll take you out to lunch.

Until next time...
