Live What You Learn

Missouri Baptist University. Located in the exclusive district of West Saint Louis County, it’s not hard to see why we’re one of the fastest growing universities in all of Missouri.

Students study at MBU because they want to be enamored in their faith and challenged in their studies. They want to be inspired with a college experience that transcends the confines of a college classroom. They long for substantive, lifelong friendships. They know the value of rigorous academics and accomplished faculty. They see the innumerable opportunities associated with the thriving metropolitan mecca of Saint Louis and want to be apart of the excitement.

Discover MBU. You’ll be glad you did.

Committed

MBU is committed to providing students with an environment that fosters not only a heightened level of learning, but also a place that allows you to discover and grow in your faith. MBU believes college is a time to explore, to discover. From answering questions over a cup of coffee to the faith component that is evident in all of our classrooms, MBU professors want to assist you in your journey.  At MBU, faith permeates all of learning, providing an ethical and moral fabric from reasoning that’ll allow you to go beyond MBU’s campus confident and prepared.

Proven

Founded in 1964, MBU is young, yet abounding with accomplishment.  Now offering undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate studies in over thirty-five specialized fields, MBU continues to equip students with the tools needed to impact their society on a global scale. MBU's education and fine arts programs are nationally known in addition to business, religion, administration of justice, and more. MBU’s athletic program has an unrivaled history, attracting exceptional scholar athletes every year and bringing home a myriad of national championships.  Boasting more than 4,200 students, MBU has indeed accomplished a lot in its forty-two years of existence. But this is only the beginning.

Affordable

Tuition at MBU ranks among the lowest for private colleges. The annual tuition and fees of $15,760 is well below the national private four-year average of $23,712 (collegeboard.com). In addition to the modest tuition, students receive, on average, more than $6,750 of financial aid. More than 92 percent of our students receive financial aid.

Engaged

MBU doesn’t just give students tools to succeed. We give students tools and then challenge them to use them to make a difference in society.  From completing a service project at the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home during Engage MBU, the University’s welcome weekend for incoming freshman and transfer students, to the capstone course preceding graduation, community service is encouraged––and the opportunities are endless. Nearly every weekend, MBU’s premiere ministry groups tour the Midwest, singing to thousands of people every year. From working at a soup line in downtown Saint Louis to picking up trash on the side of a roadway, MBU’s Ministerial Alliance collectively devotes thousands of hours every year to give back to their community. At MBU, the opportunity to engage your community isn’t some afterthought, it is pervasive.

Faith

Since its inception, Missouri Baptist University has striven to integrate its core values of FAITH in every aspect of Learning, creating an unashamed Christ-centered academic community made up of a diverse and accomplished student body.

So, why study at a Christian university?

C.S. Lewis once wrote, “There is no neutral ground in the universe: every square inch, every split second, is claimed by God and counter-claimed by Satan.”

At MBU, the term evangelical is not in our mission statement as some sort of vague public relations strategy. It’s who we are.  We’re passionate about coupling Faith and Learning. As Christians, we believe they belong together.

Rooted in a rich Baptist heritage, MBU interweaves its Christian worldview in nearly every aspect of its purpose—from residence life and MBU’s weekly convocation to the teachings and curriculum that occur inside the classroom.

Our mission statement commits us to enriching students’ whole lives—spiritually, intellectually and professionally. MBU students, alumni, staff and faculty everyday play out that commitment on our campus, in St. Louis and beyond.
