If it is determined that an International Student should be enrolled in the Intensive English Tract, the student will be enrolled in classes on a Provisional Basis, and will be enrolled in the following courses:
ENG 016 Intensive English for International Students
ENG 103 English Grammar
ENG 113 English Composition I
ENG 123 English Composition II
All of the above English courses must be taken consecutively (without interruption).
An English Proficiency Exam will be administered at the completion of ENG 016 (Intensive English for International Students). Students must achieve a minimum score equivalent to a 500 on the TOEFL to progress to ENG 103 (College Grammar). Students failing to score a 500 or above will be given the option to repeat ENG 016 or to withdraw from Missouri Baptist University.
To gain full-time status necessary for Immigration F-1 status, international students enrolled provisionally must also enroll for an additional six (6) credit hours (totaling 12 credit hours). The additional six hours consist of general education classes only.
All International Students are required to take the total course load during their first two (2) semesters at MBU on the MAIN CAMPUS ONLY.
WARNING: International students must maintain a full-time student status (a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester for undergraduate students, and a minimum of 6 credit hours for graduate students) to remain in status with US IMMIGRATION. Students failing to adhere to this regulation will be reported to the USCIS and refused enrollment to MBU for the following semester.
