STEP 1: Application for Admission and Supplement
for International Students
These forms, as with all forms, must be completed
in English. Please do not forget to fill out both sides of each form
and sign in each place your signature is required. (Your application
will not be processed if incomplete or lacking a signature.)
STEP 2: $25 Application Fee
This fee allows for your application to be processed.
It must be paid by check or money order. The fee may be waived in special
circumstances. Please make your check or money order payable to Missouri
Baptist University.
STEP 3: Letter of Recommendation & Academic
Reference
Please include a Letter of Recommendation.
All first-year college students
must also have a letter of Academic Reference
from a High School official. This letter must
include your Cumulative Grade Point Average and
your Rank in your graduating Class.
STEP 4: Visa Clearance Form
This form is to be returned only by students
transferring from another university within the United States. Please
fill out and sign the top portion of the form and have the appropriate
designated school official at your previous university fill out and sign
the bottom portion.
Step 5: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign
Language)
This test is to be taken by students for whom
English is not the primary language. You will need to submit evidence
of English proficiency by a minimum score on TOEFL of 500. Students with
a TOEFL score of 430-499 may be eligible for International Provisional
Status*. (See the form regarding English Proficiency Requirements).
The TOEFL Code for Missouri Baptist University is 2258.
Step 6: Signed Financial Estimate Worksheet
This worksheet
includes
a detail of what expenses you will incur while
at Missouri Baptist University. It must be signed
and returned as verification that you do understand
the expenses you will incur, the methods of payment
available, and your responsibility to pay for
those expenses.
Step 7: Proof of Financial Ability
You must show proof of your ability to support
yourself while attending MBU. The Proof
of Financial Ability
form
and Sources
of Funds
form
must be filled out and signed. If the source of funds is someone other
than you, that source must sign the Sources
of Funds form. Verification of funds may also come in the form of a
bank statement. Student athletes must submit these forms as well. A
copy of a scholarship form will not be enough to prove financial ability.
Step 8: Transcripts in English
An original copy of official school transcripts
must be sent for the following:
- A high school transcript for first-year college students (freshmen)
- A college transcript for students transferring college-level course
credits earned at another U.S. institution.
- A student who has attended a university outside of the United States must transfer their credits, and must have the transcripts evaluated by:

**An application for evaluation by World Education Services can be obtained by request from World Education Services directly or by contacting the MBU Admissions Office.
Step 9: $3000 Deposit
Upon acceptance for admission to Missouri Baptist
University, a $3000 deposit is required,
which will go toward the first semester’s tuition expenses. If
you should enter the US on an I-20 issued
by MBU, then choose to attend another
college, the deposit will be refunded
minus a $50 transaction fee. (Graduate International Students need
pay only a $1500 deposit.)
*If you will be an athlete receiving a scholarship
from MBU, this deposit is not required. However, you will need to submit
a photocopy of your Athletic Scholarship Letter.
Step 10: Immunization Record and Proof of Health
Insurance
A medical history detailing immunizations is
required for attendance at MBU. This should be signed by a doctor. If
you do not already have health insurance, you will need to obtain health
insurance within 2 weeks after the start of classes. You can estimate
about $300 for the cost of health insurance for the year (which must
be paid at the beginning of coverage).
