If you are taking a web course through MBU for the first time, please follow these steps get logged on to your course.

1) You must first be properly registered for your web course(s) through admissions or your advisor. If you need help with this step, click here.

Once you have completed the registration process, a Blackboard account is created for you to log on to your course(s). This account is separate from your MBU computer user account. Your log on criteria for your new Blackboard account are as follows:

Username: ( Student ID number).
Password: ( Student ID number).

For example, if your Student ID number was 0701234, your log on criteria would be as follows:

Username:0701234
Password: 0701234

2) Open your web browser and link to MBU's distance learning home page (www.mobap.edu/distancelearning). Click on the Blackboard icon titled Web Course Log on. When the Blackboard welcome page opens, click the Login button. Enter your criteria in the appropriate fields and click Login. If you receive the message "Could not login. The specified user name does not exist in the system," contact the distance learning system administrator at 314-392-2282 or distancelearning@mobap.edu to have the problem corrected. Otherwise, move on to the next step.

3) After you enter your log on criteria and click on the Log In button, you will be linked to your Blackboard homepage, as shown in the example below. Two tabs appear at the top of your home page: (My Institution and Courses). The My Institution page gives you immediate access to the most current information about the courses you are currently enrolled in, such as recent announcements, important dates on your course calendars, and a listing of the courses in which you are enrolled.

PLEASE EDIT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION IN BLACKBOARD AT THIS POINT IN THE TUTORIAL!

It is important that you edit your personal information once you get logged on for the first time. You can edit your personal information by clicking on the "Personal Information" link located on the tools menu to the left of your My Institution page. Through the "Personal Information" link can change your password at anytime and keep your personal information updated. When viewing your personal information, please be sure to enter a valid e-mail address of your choice. The e-mail address you enter will be the address where you will receive any messages related to your course.

4) You can access the course(s) you are enrolled in by clicking  on the title of the course located under My Courses on the My Institution page, or you can click on the Courses tab and then click on the title of your course from your Courses page.
