For the second time in as many years, Missouri Baptist University is helping one of its most deserving neighbors.
MBU is set to host the second annual “MBU Run For Ronald,” Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011 at 8 a.m. on the campus of Missouri Baptist University. The fun run will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities’ 300th house, which opened last fall on the campus of St. John’s Mercy Children’s Hospital in West St. Louis County,
“This is a great opportunity for MBU and the community to help raise awareness for such a worthy organization,” said Dr. Alton Lacey, Missouri Baptist University president. “MBU is honored to be associated with the great work of Ronald McDonald House Charities.”
The “MBU Run For Ronald” is a fun run/walk for all ages that will begin at Missouri Baptist University and end in front of the Ronald McDonald House on the campus of Mercy Children's Hospital. The post-race celebration, hosted by Ronald McDonald, will include a free breakfast, an awards ceremony and tours of the new House.
"RMHC is so incredibly excited that Missouri Baptist University has embraced the newest Ronald McDonald House by hosting the "MBU Run for Ronald" to help welcome us to the neighborhood," RMHC President Dan Harbaugh said. "Making this new House a home would not be possible without great community partners like MBU who see the value of providing comfortable beds, warm meals, and other comforts of home to families of children being treated at West County hospitals."
